Women and girls are usually responsible for gathering water for their families. As a result of this burden, many girls drop out of school or experience poor grades due to missed classes. When the burden of accessing water is relieved, women and girls are protected and empowered to learn, grow, earn incomes, and succeed.

Access to safe water and sanitation systems is foundational to healthy communities. H2O4ALL community health initiatives include water access for hospitals and health centres, sanitation and hygiene projects such as latrines and washing facilities, and ensuring at-risk populations such as seniors and young children are protected from the dangers of unsafe water.

Access to water helps feed neighbourhoods and improve nutrition. As a second phase of our installed water projects, some communities are now working in partnership with H2O4ALL to implement sustainable agriculture projects. Water access has helped to kickstart school garden plots, community tree farms, and animal-raising projects that are sustainable and long-term solutions to nutritional needs.

Access to education provides children with the tools they need to succeed, opens new opportunities in their future, and empowers them to break the cycle of poverty. Schools with safe water access see increased enrollment, improved grades, and decreased dropout rates.

Through ethical project implementation, community education, and responsive action, H2O4ALL helps its partners manage their water resources and expand agriculture with ecological sustainability. Through partnership and educational initiatives, we are assisting communities to protect and steward natural resources for future generations.
