Celebrating MOve 4 Water 2025
On June 7th, H2O4ALL supporters from coast to coast came together for Move 4 Water, an annual drive to combat global water insecurity. Teams of volunteers used their favorite ways to move to promote awareness of global water scarcity in their communities and raise funds for sustainable safe water solutions, empowering H2O4ALL to protect thousands of people from waterborne diseases this year.
The weekend of Move 4 Water kicked off on the evening of Friday June 6th, with a walk at City View Park in Burlington Ontario. Coach Kaley Metler from KJ’s Fitness organized the walk with the hopes of bringing her community together to make change.
“I really enjoyed the walk.” she commented after the event. “Seeing everyone out there, enjoying the fresh air and supporting H2O4ALL was really rewarding.”
Saturday June 7th saw several more Move 4 Water fundraisers across Canada. H2O4ALL cofounder Tim Muttoo led a community walk at Knotty Pines Park in Mississauga, Ontario, while a group of summer interns organized a run. In addition, former H2O4ALL intern Cale Howard led a group of volunteers on a full day of hiking, bouldering, and swimming in Wakefield, Quebec to raise funds for sustainable safe water initiatives.
In Waterdown, Ontario, the Waterdown Water Relay team returned after last year’s successful fundraiser. A team of volunteers from ages one to 89 moved for water to raise funds for sustainable safe water access.
The team swam a total of 4 km, in honor of the thousands of children in Africa who walk 4 KM a day or more to reach a water source.
After the event, team leader Marcia Barnes described the fundraiser as a chance to educate more people about the need for safe water solutions.
“It was a very different team than last year.” she explained. “So we had the chance to make connections with people who hadn’t volunteered with H2O4ALL before. And everybody was very enthusiastic… One team member who is scared of water even made the effort to swim 4 lengths using a floatation device.”
Together, our volunteers were able to raise thousands of dollars for H2O4ALL’s future safe water initiatives over just one weekend. Not only were we able to raise funds for our 2026 projects, it gave participants the chance to bring their communities together and raise awareness of the need for a sustainable solution for water scarcity.
A heartfelt thank you to everybody who donated, led a team, or showed up to make moves for water this year! We’re looking forward to joining forces with our volunteers again in summer 2026.
