What if you could save a life for just a few dollars?
How would your life be different if you didn’t have safe water? You might have to rely on the closest stream or lake, not knowing if its water might make you or your children sick. Your children and your neighbors’ children likely wouldn’t be able to stay in school if they had to collect water for their families. And it’s possible that someone you know might die from a waterborne disease.
This is the reality for nearly two billion people around the world whose communities don’t have safe water access. For every one of these people, another day without safe water access means another day of knowing the water they drink could harm them or their families. This year alone will see another 1.4 million people die from diseases related to contaminated water – many of them children under five.Â
Since our founding in 2008, H2O4ALL has made it our mission to lift the burden of water scarcity for as many people as possible. We’ve brought sustainable, reliable water access to more than a million people worldwide, empowering communities to stop the spread of waterborne diseases and prevent thousands of deaths. But none of this would have been possible without the generosity of hundreds of ordinary people who saw a chance to change a life for the better and took it.
How much does it cost to save a life? For just $1.50, we can give a single person safe water for a whole year. That’s one more person who doesn’t need to worry that this could be the day that the water from the nearby stream makes them or their family sick. It could be a mother who no longer spends her days collecting water for her family, a student who can stay in school this year, a child who can grow up healthy without the risk of waterborne diseases.
Now, consider how that impact might be magnified if you were a monthly donor. For less than the price of a coffee each month, a dozen people could have safe, reliable water for a year. For just fifteen dollars a month, you could save more than a hundred lives this year!
