H2O4ALL is dedicated to creating sustainability by empowering our communities. Here’s how WaSh education prepares communities to manage their own water access.

Our mission in Cuba nine years ago began in the city of Cienfuegos, the capital of the Cienfuegos District on the south coast of Cuba. Since then, we’ve installed safe water systems in eighteen churches throughout Cienfuegos and the neighboring district of Villa Clara, empowering our partner churches to provide their communities with a water source they can trust.

For teachers and students, staying safe during the pandemic was difficult enough without water stress – but in communities where safe water access was scarce, protective hygiene was exponentially more difficult. For our partner communities in the Dominican Republic, H2O4ALL’s Clean Hands Initiative made a world of difference when it came to keeping kids and teachers safe at school.

Mailiari Health Centre provides healthcare to six thousand people in Nairiri, Kenya. After H2O4ALL’s safe water project, the health centre was empowered to provide safe water in a community where thousands struggled with water insecurity.

After another successful Taste of India fundraiser this year, TOI organizer Hycinth Gomez shares on cooking, community and the decision to make a move for change.

Finally, we broke new ground in Kibera, outside Nairobi. This informal community is home to nearly two million people, many of whom live in poverty. Since Kibera isn’t linked to any local water systems, most people rely on the extremely polluted Nairobi River.

With the help of our friends at Church 365, H2O4ALL is bringing change to struggling families in Liberia – one filter at a time.

In 2012, H2O4ALL partnered with Wine to Water to bring safe water to water-stressed areas of the Dominican Republic. With simple point-of-use water filters, we’ve brought safe water to tens of thousands of people in struggling communities – one family at a time.

Last January, we partnered with Reach One Touch One Ministries to implement a safe water project at Life Primary and Secondary Schools. Thanks to that project, the schools now have a safe water system that provides up to 23,000 litres a day.

In 2015, we partnered with Assemblies of God Cuba to serve water-stressed communities in Cuba’s Cienfuegos District. Since then, fourteen churches in the Cienfuegos District have received safe water systems, providing thousands of community members with a much-needed alternative to local water sources.

On Earth Day, we’ll often see people becoming aware of how much water they consume daily. But it’s not often that we ask ourselves: what if saving every drop of water wasn’t an option?

From June 3rd to June 10th, our Cuba team was on the ground in Cuba to perform maintenance. Scott Noble, a longtime volunteer in the Cuba initiative, gives insight into the project and the impact of volunteering.
